Out in the Community

Erin our wonderful Hygienist was out in the community sharing the importance of Dental Health with the youngsters at Nativity Grade School

Besides playing with masks and gloves, the children played a game to figure out healthy versus unhealthy foods for their teeth.  They also learned about brushing and flossing, and what to expect at the dentist.

Here are some tips and important reminders for your kiddos at home…

- Remember to brush morning and night for 2 minutes.  Sometimes it helps to use a timer or listen to a favorite song while brushing.

- Brush right before bed or after a late night snack.

- Build the habit of flossing early.  Floss holders (usually in fun colors for kids) are a great tool for kids to get use to flossing.

- Plan your child’s first visit to the Dentist around age 3.  This is considered a “Happy Visit” when your child is introduced to the office, dental tools, and the lovely people that will be working on their teeth.

As with any good habits, it’s a matter of practice and consistency… so keep at it and try to make it fun!  Also, feel free to give us a call if you have any questions or would like to schedule a Happy Visit for your little one.   913-383-2600
